Assisted Suicide Assault on New England States Moves to Connecticut
As predicted, after their big win in Washington State, the pro-euthanasia Compassion and Choices group would move its operation to the New England States. Yesterday, I reported on legislative activity in New Hampshire to legalize assisted suicide. Not long after hitting “publish” to post the blog, I received news that C&C (as they are affectionately called) filed a lawsuit yesterday challenging Connecticut’s law which prohibits assisted suicide.
C&C recruited two Connecticut physicians to file the suit. C&C claims that what they call “aid in dying” is already happening in secrecy, patients are suffering and abandoned without this “aid,” and physicians are placed at great risk for simply “helping” their patients.
The Hartford Courant is already conducting a poll asking for respondents’ views on legalizing assisted suicide. It is noted that one of the “no” responses to the survey is worded so that it can be claimed that opposition to legalization is Catholic. Please respond to the poll and use question four to record your “no” response.
The poll can be found here.
