More Evidence of Increased Breast Cancer Risk from Abortion

It is a dirty little secret.  According to Dr. Joel Brind, “…the studies keep rolling in, conclusively demonstrating that the ABC (abortion and breast cancer) link really exists.”

The newest study comes from Armenia and includes researchers  from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing.  They found a “2.86 fold increased risk” of breast cancer following abotion.  The authors then attempt to excuse or minimize their own findings!  The team states:  “Most evidence (of an abortion-breast cancer link)…points to no effect.”

Dr.  Brind adamantly disagrees.  He cites 51 of 68 studies since 1957 that support the abortion -breast cancer link.

Is it political correctness that causes researchers to diminish the findings in their own studies?  Apparently when it comes to abortion, facts are not even facts.

Even Barney Frank Wants the IPAB Repealed

Hardly a friend of the right-to-life cause, it is refreshing to learn that Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass) has joined 212 Members of the House of Representatives calling for repeal of the dreaded Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB), a major centerpiece of Obamacare.

Obamacare gives an appointed IPAB wide authority, without congressional oversight, to impose “quality” and “efficiency” measures on health care providers which are required to report their compliance.  According to National Right to Life’s Burke Balch, “Doctors who dare to give their patients treatment beyond what these measures permit will be excluded from contracting with any qualified health insurance plans……What this amounts to is that doctors, hospitals, and other health care providers will be told by Washington bureaucrats just what diagnostic tests and medical care is considered to meet ‘quality’ and ‘efficiency standards — not only for federally funded health care programs like Medicare, but also for health care paid for by private citizens and their nongovernmental health insurance.”

In addition to the 212 Congressmen, over 290 medical organizations have sent letters to Congress urging repeal of the IPAB.

What has been the President’s response as he sees his signature law under attack?  He is fighting hard to keep IPAB in place, even proposing to use IPAB as a means to pay for his jobs bill!  “The recently released ‘Plan for Economic Growth and Deficit Reduction,’ while relying on many expected tax increases to fund the jobs plan, also reveals a telling agenda with respect to the IPAB.  The President would have IPAB significantly reduce the resources that can be used for life- and health-saving medical care even below the limit that was set in the Obama health care law,” states Balch.  Ominous.

So, as Barney Frank prepares to leave the Congress, he has done the American public a big favor by weighing on on this critical issue — on the right side.

Pro-Life Pregnancy Help Centers Targeted by Pro-Abortion Legislators

It is happening all over the country and has now hit Wisconsin — attacks on pro-life Pregnancy Help Centers.  These agencies exist for a sole purpose — to help a pregnant woman sort through her problems and to present alternatives to abortion.  In Wisconsin, thousands of women are assisted each year.

Legislation is being circulated in Madison by pro-abortion Rep. Elizabeth Coggs which would gravely impact our centers.   The proposed bill would do the following:

Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau:
Bill prohibits a limited services pregnancy center from making or distributing an advertisement that contains an untrue or misleading statement related to the services the pregnancy center offers to clients or from making or distributing a misleading or untrue statement concerning the services the pregnancy center offers as part of plan not to perform those services. This bill defines a limited services pregnancy center as a pregnancy services center that does not directly provide or make referrals for abortions or emergency contraception to individuals seeking services at the pregnancy services center.

Under this bill, if a court finds that a limited services pregnancy center made or distributed an advertisement that contains an untrue or misleading statement or made or distributed a misleading or untrue statement concerning the services it offers as part of plan not to perform those services, the court may assess a forfeiture on the limited services pregnancy center, require the limited services pregnancy center to reimburse the attorney general or district attorney for the expenses of the investigation and prosecution, and issue an injunction that requires any of the
following:

1. That the limited services pregnancy center pay for and distribute corrective advertising.

2. That the limited services pregnancy center post a notice that is readily visible to clients that states whether there is a licensed physician on staff at the center and whether the center offers abortions, emergency contraception, or referrals for
abortions or emergency contraception.

3. Other relief that the court considers necessary to remedy the adverse effects on women seeking pregnancy−related services.

Fortunately, given the current makeup of the legislature, this bill will go nowhere.  However, this is an ominous warning of what will occur if Governor Walker and our pro-life majorities in the state legislature are overturned.  We can expect to see this and other pro-abortion legislation progressing swiftly through the legislature.  That is why the upcoming recall and 2012 elections are so critical — many human lives are at stake.
