The Wisconsin Right to Life Political Action Committee (WRTL/PAC) is in the process of assessing candidates for state legislature, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives. A complete list of WRTL/PAC endorsements will appear on this page several weeks prior to the September 14, 2010 primary election and several weeks prior to the November 2, 2010 general election. At election time, come back and visit this page to view the list of endorsed right-to-life candidates.
Wisconsin's 2010 Spring Primary election will be held February 16, 2010. The Spring General election will be held on April 6, 2010. The 2010 Spring elections will decide an array of judicial races throughout the state.
Spring 2010 Election Endorsement of Mark Gundrum
for Waukesha County Circuit Court
The Wisconsin Right to Life Political Action Committee has endorsed Mark Gundrum in the race for Waukesha County Circuit Court. He is currently a member of the State Assembly, a position he has been elected to since 1998. Representative Gundrum strongly believes judges should interpret the law, not create new law. His judicial philosophy is one that bodes well for the right to life movement. In addition, Rep. Gundrum has been a leader for the right-to-life cause during his time in the state legislature.
Representative Gundrum will face Judge Richard Congdon who was appointed by Governor Jim Doyle just last year to fill a vacancy created when Judge Mark Gempeler retired. This will be first time Judge Congdon will face the voters for this judicial position. He refused to answer the Wisconsin Right to Life judicial candidate questionnaire.
Congdon is the former chairman of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. In a guest editorial that appeared in GM Today on November 4, 2009, Congdon quoted Barry Goldwater as saying, "...I believe that a woman has a right to an abortion. That's a decision that's up to the pregnant woman, not up to the pope or some do-gooders or the Religious Right." Congdon then commented on the Goldwater quote by saying, "In Wisconsin, of course, almost all the Republican candidates for office believe the government should take away that individual right."
The Wisconsin Right to Life Political Action Committee (WRTL/PAC) is Wisconsin’s premier right-to-life organization working for the election of right-to-life candidates and the

being the only right-to-life political action committee in Wisconsin
that is effective in what it does and in achieving actual results.

Candidate Information You Can Use
At every election, Wisconsin Right to Life (WRTL) develops literature
that compares the candidates’ positions on right-to-life issues.
Unlike the candidate endorsement pieces prepared by the Wisconsin Right
to Life Political Action Committee, the Wisconsin Right To Life candidate
comparison pieces do not advocate for the election or defeat of any candidate. Because
of this, it would be perfectly legal for these pieces to be distributed
in churches.
Wisconsin Right to Life invites you to download the comparison pieces
and share them with other right-to-life people.
At election time, come back and visit this page to find our candidate
comparison pieces.
