Planned Parenthood What You Should Know...

Planned Parenthood is Wisconsin’s and the
Nation’s Largest Abortion Provider and Advocate
Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin operates three of Wisconsin’s five abortion clinics located in Milwaukee, Madison, and Grand Chute. The Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is the largest abortion provider in the United States and the primary advocate for abortion in Congress, the state legislatures and the courts. Here is what Planned Parenthood said in (circa) 1963:

“An abortion kills the life of a baby after it has begun. It is dangerous to your life and health. It may make you sterile so that when you want a child you cannot have it.”

FACTS
The facts of creation of a baby haven’t changed – Planned Parenthood now chooses to deny them. From Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s 2005 Annual Report:

  • Operates 860 abortion clinics in the United States
    .
  • Performed 264,943 abortions in 2005, up 10,000 from 2004.

  • Doubled the number of abortions it performed in the ten-year period from 1995 to 2005.

  • Responsible for over 20% of all abortions performed nationwide.

  • Provided prenatal services for only 12,548 women.

  • Nearly a $1 billion corporation with revenues of $902.8 million.

  • Received $345.1 million (38% of revenue) from “Health Center Income.” These revenues are from Planned Parenthood clinics.

  • Received $305.1million (30% of revenues) from “Government Grants and Contracts.” These are revenues from the pockets of taxpayers via federal, state and local governments.

  • Spent $45.2 million on “Public Policy.” These are funds Planned Parenthood used to fight the confirmation of U.S. Supreme court nominees John Roberts and Samuel Alito; to oppose any prohibition of abortion in the states; to lobby for continued tax dollars for their coffers; and to fight any restrictions on abortion such as parental consent or notification laws, women’s right to know laws, and unborn victims of violence laws.

  • Paid its president over $935,000 in salary and benefits in 2005.

Tiller "the Baby Killer" Charged on 19 Counts

Notorious Wichita, Kansas abortionist George
Tiller known for performing late-term abortions
On Friday, August 3, George Tiller (through his attorneys) turned himself in to authorities and was released on his own recognizance. The Kansas City Star newspaper reports that “Tiller faces 19 misdemeanor charges in Sedgwick County District Court. Attorney General Paul Morrison alleges the Wichita doctor broke the law by consulting in 2003 on late-term abortions with a doctor who had business ties to him. State law requires that two physicians not legally or financially tied authorize the procedure.”

The Kansas law applies when abortions are performed after the 21st week of pregnancy and the baby can survive outside the womb. Tiller’s website indicates that his abortion clinic specializes in “late-term abortion care.”

If convicted on all counts he faces up to 19 years in jail and nearly $50,000 in fines. One Kansas blogger noted, “He not only does abortions, he also tries to make the killing of these babies normal by dressing them up after he has killed them, in some cases [offering to] ‘baptize’ them and...takes pictures of them with their parents.” It is not alleged that Tiller has performed partial-birth abortions.

Our Tax Dollars Will be Used to Pay For Abortions -
Unless We Act NOW!

The state legislature is considering a universal state health insurance plan called “Healthy Wisconsin.”

If this plan is approved, it will mean that Wisconsin taxpayers – meaning YOU – will foot the bill for the abortions of any Wisconsin woman, for any reason, at any time during her pregnancy!

In a sleight-of-hand move, State Senate Democrats included the “Healthy Wisconsin” plan as part of their version of the state budget. A conference committee will be meeting over the next several weeks to work out the differences between the Democratic State Senate version of the state budget and the State Assembly version.

It is vital that you contact the eight members of the conference committee and tell them to oppose the “Healthy Wisconsin” plan because you do not want your tax dollars to pay for abortions. You can leave a phone message for them by calling the toll-free legislative hotline at 1-800-362-9472, or send an email using the addresses below.

Stem Cell Scoreboard

Don't be fooled by distortions in the media!
Adult stem cells have been successfully used on human persons to treat over 73 conditions. Human lives are saved. No one is killed.

Embryonic stem cells have not been used to treat even one person. There have been no human trials because embryonic stem cells grow uncontrollably and would create tumors if put into a person. Human embryos are destroyed to obtain the stem cells.

View our online list of all 73 human treatments accomplished using adult stem cells.

Rescuing the Abandoned Orphans of Iraq

A good friend of Wisconsin Right to Life, Maj. Scott Southworth, is involved with a rescue mission to bring 23 Iraqi boys with varying disabilities to the U.S. for long-term care and medical treatment that they could not receive in Iraq. Some of you may have seen the CBS News story done on this matter.

These boys were found naked, starving and nearly dehydrated to death in a government-run orphanage in Iraq in early June. Enter Scott Southworth, who happened to see a news story about the grim discovery at the orphanage.

Many of you may also have heard of Scott. In 2003 while he was serving a tour in Iraq, he and his unit volunteered at an orphanage run by the Sisters of Charity (the order founded by Mother Teresa.) While there, Scott met a little boy named Ala’a, who had cerebral palsy, and upon realizing that Ala’a’s future in Iraq was bleak or non-existent, Scott agreed to bring Ala’a to the states and care for him as his son. Ala’a was formally adopted by Scott in June of this year, after living here and thriving for two years.

Before he can bring any of the other boys here, Scott and his colleagues need to find families willing to take these children in and love them. Most of the boys are just starved for human interaction and are longing for someone to see them as special, unique and priceless. These boys all have physical disabilities - some have Down syndrome - others cerebral palsy, while others have not yet been diagnosed because of the lack of resources in their country. Many are in wheelchairs.

Scott’s looking for Christian families committed to caring for these boys because they understand the intrinsic value and dignity of every human life. In Scott’s words, these boys “will go from abandonment to unconditional love.”

Hey GOP! We Want a Right-to-Life Nominee!

Sign the Petition!
Sign the petition and tell the Republican National Committee that you want a right-to-life candidate for president in 2008. To have a petition mailed to you, call Wisconsin Right to Life toll free 877-855-5007 or 414-778-5780. To sign the petition online, or to download a print version, visit:

The petition to the Republican Party will have actual results since there is a pro-abortion Republican presidential candidate. Because all Democratic presidential candidates are ardently pro-abortion, a petition to this party would have no impact whatsoever.
